It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Chowchilla Tribe ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Paso Robles 63-61. The win was nothing new for Chowchilla as they're now sitting on three straight.
Leading Chowchilla to victory were Ryan Deatherage and Khaled Escheik. Deatherage dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Escheik scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Deatherage's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Hemphill, who scored 3 points along with 7 steals and 5 assists.
Chowchilla's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Paso Robles, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Chowchilla won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th. Paso Robles is on the road again on Friday and play against Orange Cove at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th.
