Archbishop Mitty added to the longest winning streak in West Catholic this week by beating Sacred Heart Cathedral, 42-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Fightin' Irish lost to Archbishop Mitty 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
William Fisher-Colbrie threw for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 6-6 with 0 interceptions.
Zach Masoli provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Archbishop Riordan fell to St. Francis. He completed 9 passes for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 16 yards. Masoli's key target this week was Christian Hall, who caught 5 passes for 136 yards.
Hall was the best wideout in the league this week as the Crusaders fell to the Lancers. Hall tallied 5 receptions for 136 yards. Robert Valencia helped Archbishop Riordan's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 36 yards.
St. Ignatius's Ryan Hagfeldt and Joe Lang led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Hagfeldt has thrown for 863 yards this season, while Lang has 22 catches for 283 yards. Serra's Kava Cassidy leads the league in rushing yards with 651.
The top two teams in West Catholic will face off this week when first place Archbishop Mitty takes on second place St. Francis. Last week, Matt Haniger's team defeated Sacred Heart Cathedral, while St. Francis bested Archbishop Riordan.
Greg Calcagno's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,288 from 1,416. The improvement was largely due to a 49-15 victory over John Lee's team last week.
