The Taft Greyhounds will be playing at home against the Goliad Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taft will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Even though Taft has not done well against Aransas Pass recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Taft came out on top against Aransas Pass by a score of 63-54.
Taft's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Villalobos, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Villalobos has scored at least a third of Taft's points. Another player making a difference was David Davis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds.
Even though Goliad has not done well against Odem recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Goliad walked away with a 50-40 win over Odem. The victory was just what Goliad needed coming off of a 79-47 defeat in their prior match.
Taft has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Goliad, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4.
