Even though the Lockney Longhorns scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the New Deal Lions still came out on top. New Deal enjoyed a cozy 75-61 win over Lockney. The win made it back-to-back wins for New Deal.
Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Hernandez, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahlen Silva, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
New Deal's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Lockney, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
New Deal will head out on the road to take on Floydada at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Floydada's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Lockney, they will be playing at home against Smyer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Smyer is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
