The Platteview Trojans waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 64-58 victory over Mount Michael Benedictine. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jaxon Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Steele, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Mount Michael Benedictine still got an impressive performance from Harrison Long, who scored 29 points. Kyle Oldehoeft was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Mount Michael Benedictine struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Platteview racked up 13 assists.
Platteview's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Platteview and Holdrege will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th at. Holdrege is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Mount Michael Benedictine will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Wahoo at 5:45 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Wahoo's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
