King's Christian Academy is 2-8 against Lanham Christian since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The King's Christian Academy Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Lanham Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, King's Christian Academy opened the new year with a less-than-successful 81-68 loss to Avalon. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (66), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Earl B. Edmonds, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Burgess, who posted 14 points.
Meanwhile, Lanham Christian came tearing into Monday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Black Knights with points to spare, taking the game 81-66. Given the Lions 's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Black Knights are ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lanham Christian's win came from a few key players King's Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Trey Ray, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Payen, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.
Lanham Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.
Lanham Christian pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for King's Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as King's Christian Academy and Lanham Christian are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. King's Christian Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.3 points per game. However, it's not like Lanham Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.1 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
