With a playoff game on the line, the Higley Knights rose to the challenge on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 42-41 photo finish over the Scorpions. The victory was nothing new for Higley as they're now sitting on six straight.
Higley was led to victory by Gunner Fagrell and Daxen Hall. Fagrell threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns, while Hall gained 336 total yards and two touchdowns. Hall is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John (jd) Decausmaker, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Desert Edge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hezekiah Millender, who threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Kezion Dia-johnson was another key contributor, picking up 205 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Higley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Desert Edge, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Higley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Desert Edge also has no future games currently scheduled.
