After a disappointing six points in their last match, Clarinda made sure to put some points up on the board against West Central Valley on Friday. Clarinda took the matchup and then some with a 41-6 win over West Central Valley. Clarinda were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Clarinda got off to a slow start in their contest last week, but they had no such trouble against West Central Valley as they cruised to a 41-point first half. Meanwhile, West Central Valley couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 41-0 heading into the break. Clarinda were outscored in the second half, but West Central Valley's efforts were ultimately no more than a drop in the ocean.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Clarinda will stay at home next week against Van Meter at 7:00 PM. Van Meter have averaged 35.33 points over the course of their past six games, so Clarinda might be in for a challenge. As for West Central Valley, they will face off against Panorama. West Central Valley have seen their point totals decreasing over the past four games, a vulnerability Panorama are surely hoping to exploit.
