The Bath Wildcats will head out to face off against the Memorial Roughriders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Bath had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 23-run drubbing they dealt Jefferson on Saturday. Bath's pitchers stepped up to hand Jefferson a 23-0 shutout. That 23-run margin sets a new team best for Bath this season.
Karson Green was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Braylon Leach looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Bath got a massive performance out of Daniel Cole, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and five runs. Those five runs gave Cole a new career-high. Zach Welsch was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.
Bath always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Memorial strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Lehman Catholic with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Roughriders have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Bath's record now sits at 3-1. As for Memorial, their record is now 9-0.
Bath came out on top in a nail-biter against Memorial when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
