After flying high against the Stall Warriors on Tuesday, the Battery Creek Dolphins came back down to earth. Battery Creek fell to Ridgeland-Hardeeville 63-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Dolphins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayvorie Cole, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alizjah Mathis, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville can attribute much of their success to Poncie Capers, who scored 26 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Capers has scored at least 25% of Ridgeland-Hardeeville's points. Kalen Riddle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Battery Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battery Creek has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Ridgeland-Hardeeville will take on Allendale-Fairfax at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
