The Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions suffered their biggest defeat since November 13, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 51-3 loss at the hands of Eno River. Excelsior Classical Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.
Hailey Oliver was Excelsior Classical Academy's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Leading Eno River to victory were Abby Winslow and Madison Hobbs. Winslow scored ten points along with six rebounds, while Hobbs scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winslow has scored all season. Ally Almers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Excelsior Classical Academy bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.2 points per game. As for Eno River, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excelsior Classical Academy will take on Roxboro Community at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eno River, they will head out on the road to challenge Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxford Prep is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
