Layton Christian Academy's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Ava Smith and Asmin Tanhan. Smith scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Tanhan scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Tanhan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Saez, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Layton Christian Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Summit Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
