The Lincoln Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past North Marion with a 47-41 win. This was payback for Lincoln, who suffered a 53-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, North Marion still got an impressive performance from Dylan Higgins, who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Higgins has scored all season. Brady Anderson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for North Marion, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Lincoln will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Robert C. Byrd is ranked 56th, while the Cougars are ranked 58th). As for North Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grafton and the Huskies are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
