Lake-Lehman is 0-5 against Pittston since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Monday, Lake-Lehman made easy work of Wyoming Area and carried off a 10-2 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Hannah Chipego made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Lake-Lehman let Brooke Reilly and Kirsten Finarelli run wild. Reilly went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Finarelli scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave Finarelli a new career-high.
Lake-Lehman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wyoming Area only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pittston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Crestwood as they made off with a 10-4 win. With that victory, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Samantha Herbert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched eight innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Pittston got a big performance out of Marina Antal, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. Gabby Roman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Lake-Lehman's record now sits at 7-1. As for Pittston, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lake-Lehman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. However, it's not like Pittston struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lake-Lehman couldn't quite get it done against Pittston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
