The Sanford Warriors waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wilmington Friends 66-25 at home. Given Sanford's advantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Wilmington Friends is ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sanford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Taylor led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Reeve Sysko was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Sanford has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Wilmington Friends, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Sanford's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Tatnall at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Tatnall is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Wilmington Friends, they will head out on the road to take on St. Andrew's at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
