Julius Ward and Devion Barlow provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Crestwood. The connection went for 63 yards, the longest such play in Wyoming Valley 4A this season.
Hazleton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ward threw for 156 yards and Barlow had 75 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Zukoski chipped in 46 yards. Zack Kehler helped Hazleton's passing attack out by catching six balls for 48 yards.
The Cougars' Ward and Barlow have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ward has thrown for 477 yards this season, while Barlow, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has nine catches for 122 yards. Williamsport's Devin Miller leads the league in rushing yards with 596.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of Hazleton's Ward. The Cougars lost to the Comets when he connected with Barlow on a 63-yard pass.
