Baseball Recap: Lake Forest Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Lake Forest proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Prairie Ridge Wolves 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Scouts, who have now won four matches in a row.

Charlie Melin and Nate Uhart dominated on the mound. Melin tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits, while Uhart pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Uhart has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Lamberti, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

The victory got Lake Forest back to even at 16-16. As for Prairie Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 25-9-1 record this season.

Lake Forest will head out on the road to challenge Wauconda at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Prairie Ridge, they will host Grayslake North at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
