The Dalton Catamounts waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over Cartersville. Dalton pushed the score to 53-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hurricanes cut but never quite recovered from.
Cartersville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaytlin Arnold, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Arnold has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Taff Bradley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Dalton pushed their record up to 14-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Cartersville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.
Dalton will head out on the road to challenge the Colonels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cartersville, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6.
