The Decatur Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Mays Raiders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Decatur will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Mays is ranked 136th).
Decatur's 19-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Chamblee 57-51.
Despite the loss, Decatur saw an underclassman step up: Nadiya Mohamed scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Mohamed scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'lor Owens, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Mays didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Douglass on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mays.
Decatur's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mays, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Decatur against Mays when the teams last played back in November of 2019 as the squad secured a 57-26 victory. Will Decatur repeat their success, or does Mays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
