The Seven Oaks Classical Firehawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union.
Union found their leader in underclassman Lamar Schwartz, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Schwartz has scored at least a third of Union's points. Another player making a difference was Noah Schmucker, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Seven Oaks Classical bumped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Union, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seven Oaks Classical's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pleasant View Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Pleasant View Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Seven Oaks Classical in Indiana (Pleasant View Christian is ranked 204th, while Seven Oaks Classical is ranked 462nd). As for Union, they will head out on the road to take on Daleville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
