Cimarron is 1-8 against Hugoton since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cimarron Bluejays will head out on the road to face off against the Hugoton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Cimarron's 19-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Scott 39-33. While losing is never fun, Cimarron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Scott is ranked 71st).
Meanwhile, Hugoton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwestern Heights.
This is the second loss in a row for Cimarron and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Hugoton, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 0-3.
Cimarron suffered a grim 42-17 defeat to Hugoton when the teams last played back in February. Can Cimarron avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
