Unionville is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Great Valley a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Unionville Longhorns will host the Great Valley Patriots at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Unionville will bounce into Monday's game after beating Henderson, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Warriors on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Brown spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Unionville got a massive performance out of Addison Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Brun, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Valley). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over Henderson on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted against the Warriors since April 17, 2015.
Mia Carr was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. She also put up two runs, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lily Mattison, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Great Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Unionville now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Great Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Unionville took their win against Great Valley in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
