Baseball Recap: Arundel Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Arundel had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt C. Milton Wright on Monday. The Wildcats never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cayden Devers was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Arundel: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Billheimer, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Arundel has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for C. Milton Wright, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Arundel will challenge La Plata at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for C. Milton Wright, they will venture away from home to face off against Hereford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
