South Medford is a perfect 10-0 against South Eugene since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Axe at 4:30 p.m. South Medford's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so South Eugene's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between South Medford and Sheldon, and South Medford kept the tradition alive. The Panthers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Irish on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Keegan Painter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

South Medford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, South Eugene lost 8-1 to Willamette on Saturday. The Axe have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

South Eugene also got a good showing from Gabe Garcia, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Garcia has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gavin Bush made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

South Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for South Medford, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

South Medford was able to grind out a solid victory over South Eugene in their previous matchup back in April, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
