Countryside Christian is 0-3 against Oak Hall since April of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Countryside Christian Minutemen will be playing at home against the Oak Hall Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Countryside Christian will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Countryside Christian made easy work of Ocala Christian and carried off a 21-1 win. Considering the Minutemen have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Clay Dees and Eli Gruenwald were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Dees tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gruenwald pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Dees posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Dees scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Gruenwald scored four runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. With that strong performance, Gruenwald is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Countryside Christian let Brayden Dalton and Erik Orozco run wild. Dalton scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Orozco scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Orozco a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Emory Alford, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Countryside Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Oak Hall might've scored the first runs last Wednesday, but it was Saint Francis Catholic who claimed the real prize. Oak Hall fell just short of Saint Francis Catholic by a score of 7-6. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Graham Rosenstone was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Aaron Akins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Countryside Christian pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Oak Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Countryside Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Oak Hall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
