The Hayden Lobos suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Fort Thomas, falling 44-6. Hayden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Despite the defeat, Hayden had strong showings from Rya Lagunas, who scored two points along with four steals, and Trinity Collier, who scored two points along with three steals.
Tyesha Wilson was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with five steals for Fort Thomas. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Fort Thomas' points. Kirah Moses was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Hayden's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Fort Thomas, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayden will face off against Mogollon at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mogollon's defense has only allowed 28.3 points per game this season, so Hayden's offense will have their work cut out for them. Fort Thomas won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Joseph City at 3:30 p.m. on January 19th. Joseph City is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
