It was a good run, but the Cactus Cobras unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. The matchup between them and Thunderbird wasn't particularly close, with Cactus falling 66-51. Cactus found out winning isn't easy when you make seven fewer threes than your opponent.
Cactus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bradey Henige, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. Henige is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hutton, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Thunderbird got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Clark out in front who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Clark hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. Paris Strozier jr was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Cactus' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4. As for Thunderbird, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Cactus will head out on the road to face off against the Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dysart has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,590 points over their last 21 games. Thunderbird does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
