Trinity Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 60-59 to the Bruins. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Trinity Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayden Waller. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Drake Craddock was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Leading University School of Jackson to victory were Mills Terry and Brady Smith. Terry scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Smith scored 21 points along with four steals. Terry is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayes Carney, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Trinity Christian Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7. As for University School of Jackson, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.
Trinity Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Jaguars at 2:30 p.m. on January 30th. Carroll Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for University School of Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
