Beatty extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 8-3. They came out on top against the GV Christian Guardians by a score of 13-10. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 5, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Anthoni Aguilar was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Contreras, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Beatty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as GV Christian only posted an OBP of .314.
As for GV Christian, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
On GV Christian's side, Diego Klaizner and Nick Madison did some serious damage despite the final result: Klaizner went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Madison went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Madison has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Beatty will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Thunderbirds have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for GV Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge White Pine at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
