Franklin Pierce won the last time they faced Clover Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cardinals blew past the Timberwolves 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Franklin Pierce is undefeated when Sledge posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dustin Wallace, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win was the fourth in a row for Franklin Pierce, bringing their record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.5 runs over those games. As for Clover Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Franklin Pierce will take on Fife at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
