Softball Recap: Classical Has No Trouble Against Mt. Pleasant

Classical never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the Mt. Pleasant Kilties. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Purple this season.

Emmy Tavares was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Amya Manston, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Classical was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Classical pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Classical wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-2 win against Central on the 21st. As for Mt. Pleasant, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 defeat against Middletown on the 22nd.
