The  victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.
 St. Agnes Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 24-26, 25-20,  15-13.
  Zoe Ramirez and  Carla Munoz certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss.  Ramirez  had 20  digs and three  aces, while  Munoz  had 11  digs and one  assist. Ramirez is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's  played.
St. Agnes Academy's  win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-13. As for St. John XXIII, their loss dropped their record down to 14-18.
 St. Agnes Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  2-0  defeat against Houston Homeschool Athletics on the 14th. As for St. John XXIII, they will host Village  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Lions are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on  a  13-game losing streak.
