After four games on the road, Mississippi School for the Deaf is heading back home. They will take on the West Lincoln Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Mississippi School for the Deaf took a serious blow against Stringer, falling 62-25.
The losing side was boosted by Christian Carrawell, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Damarion English, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, West Lincoln's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 49-31 fall against Puckett. While losing is never fun, West Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Puckett is ranked 119th).
Mississippi School for the Deaf's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for West Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Mississippi School for the Deaf took a serious blow against West Lincoln when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 61-20. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mississippi School for the Deaf was down 35-10.
