Flora won the last time they faced Cumberland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Flora Wolves walked away with a 49-42 win over the Cumberland Pirates. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Despite the loss, Cumberland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cameron Roedl went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Stewart, who posted 12 points.
Flora's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Cumberland, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6.
Flora won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shelbyville at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Flora likes a good challenge. As for Cumberland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-38 win against Vandalia on the 26th.
