The Salem Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Clayton, falling 58-30. Salem has not had much luck with Clayton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Rainelle Blocker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clayton, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Blocker hasn't dropped below three steals for 11 straight games. Deondria Simon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Salem has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Clayton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Salem won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pleasantville at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Pleasantville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Clayton, they will head out on the road to take on Glassboro at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
