Softball Recap: Rock Springs Takes Down Ranked South

Rock Springs faced South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The TIGERS were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Bison. The match marked the TIGERS' most dominant win of the season.

Ruby Florencio was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Tarin Anderson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Rilynn Wester was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Rock Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Rock Springs' record now sits at 7-12-1. As for South, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Rock Springs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-6 victory against Green River on the 2nd. South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
