Pecos hasn't had much luck against Estancia recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will square off against the Bears at 3:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pecos comes in on eight and Estancia on six.
Pecos will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Tucumcari, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with a 21-16 victory over the Rattlers on Tuesday.
Arlanni Gabaldon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and 12 unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Pecos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Estancia got the win against Santa Rosa on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4. Considering the Bears have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Pecos, Estancia also got a great game from a two-way player: Jhenna Valencia. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Valencia was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Pecos' record now sits at 18-5. As for Estancia, their record is now 16-3.
Pecos suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Estancia in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
