The South Hamilton Hawks had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perry 65-32 at home. South Hamilton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 20 points or more this season.
Lily Meyers and Karagyn Whelchel certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Meyers scored seven points along with ten rebounds, while Whelchel scored 11 points.
South Hamilton pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Perry, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Hamilton will play host again and welcome West Marshall, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Iowa (West Marshall is ranked 92nd, while South Hamilton is ranked 88th). As for Perry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie City-Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie City-Monroe will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
