Softball Recap: Lehi Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lone Peak

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lehi). They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Lone Peak Knights on Tuesday. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Mya Maughan spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lehi got a massive performance out of Camry Wassmer, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Wassmer has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Bliss, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Lehi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lone Peak only posted a batting average of .182.

Lehi's record is now 11-2. As for Lone Peak, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Lehi didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 defeat against Pleasant Grove on the 10th. As for Lone Peak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Westlake on the 10th.
