The Randolph-Henry Statesmen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Nottoway 47-41. Randolph-Henry was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Nottoway apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Nottoway was led to victory by Kendreyeus Johnson and Anton Carter Jr.. Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Carter Jr. scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Carter Jr. hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 14 straight games.
Randolph-Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Nottoway, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Randolph-Henry will challenge Appomattox County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph-Henry is coming into the match with three straight losses on the road, meaning Appomattox County will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Nottoway, they will square off against Amelia County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Nottoway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
