The Hanford Bullpups will venture away from home to square off against the Hanford West Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Hanford had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt South on Saturday. Hanford blew past South 14-1.
Marissa Villarreal looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Chelby Revious was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Jadyn Enriquez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Hanford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Hanford West put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 12-9 win over Lemoore.
Rylan Montoya made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Kennidy Perryman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Guzman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Hanford now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hanford West, their record is now 3-0.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hanford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .487. However, it's not like Hanford West struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hanford couldn't quite finish off Hanford West when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Hanford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
