The Continental Pirates will be home for the holidays to greet the Patrick Henry Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Continental is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Saturday, Continental was beaten by Arcadia 49-19. Continental was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-4.
Kenzie Shock was Continental's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Ella Siefer held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry was the victim of a tough 52-30 loss at the hands of Ottawa-Glandorf on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Patrick Henry has scored all season.
Karsyn Weber put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Continental's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Patrick Henry, they bumped their record down to 3-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Continental have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Patrick Henry struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 29.2 rebounds per game. Given Continental's sizeable advantage in that area, Patrick Henry will need to find a way to close that gap.
Continental ended up a good deal behind Patrick Henry when the teams last played back in December of 2022, losing 50-31. Will Continental have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
