If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Lathrop. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against West Platte at 7:00 PM. Lathrop are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while West Platte are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.
Last Friday, Lathrop put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Penney 78-6. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-0.
Meanwhile, West Platte have to be hurting after a devastating 20-48 defeat at the hands of East Buchanan. West Platte were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 8-42.
Lathrop's win lifted them to 4-0 while West Platte's loss dropped them down to 1-3. We'll see if Lathrop's success rolls on or if West Platte are able to steal their positive momentum.
