Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Saints. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 Englewood wouldn't go down easily and took Jefferson into a fifth set  but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 23-25, 26-28,  17-15.
 Kira Cole paced Englewood's offense, picking up 17 kills. Cole got some help from  Shana Owens and her 15 assists.  Christina Molina controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
 Englewood has already played their next matchup,  a  3-0  defeat against Platte Canyon on the 11th. As for Jefferson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  3-2  loss against Denver West on the 14th.
