Baseball Recap: Germantown Has No Trouble Against Terry

Germantown had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Terry on Monday. The Mavericks blew past the Bulldogs 12-0. With that victory, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Brayden Simpson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Germantown let Will Sheehan and John Riley North run wild. Sheehan got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while North went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most runs Sheehan has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Quick, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Germantown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Germantown back to even at 13-13. As for Terry, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Germantown has already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against West Jones on the 17th. As for Terry, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on George County at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th.
