The Lake Ridge Academy Royals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Christian Community, falling 55-7. Lake Ridge Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-4.
Christian Community's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna Blumfeldt led the charge by scoring 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Blumfeldt has scored at least 25% of Christian Community's points. Another player making a difference was Lily Babet, who scored 7 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists.
Lake Ridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Christian Community, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Ridge Academy will take on Our Lady of the Elms at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Our Lady of the Elms focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday. As for Christian Community, they will head out on the road to face off against HEARTS for Jesus Christ at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. HEARTS for Jesus Christ's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Christian Community's offense will have their work cut out for Christian Community.
