The Oldham-Ramona/R Rutland will head out on the road to face off against the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Oldham-Ramona/R is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Oldham-Ramona/R had to suffer through a rough 71-30 loss at the hands of Canistota. While losing is never fun, Oldham-Ramona/R can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Canistota is ranked 31st).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Great Plains Lutheran beat Northwestern Area 51-46 on Thursday.
It was another big night for Myles York, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Martin Krenz, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Oldham-Ramona/R has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Oldham-Ramona/R took a serious blow against Great Plains Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 67-36. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Oldham-Ramona/R was down 42-15.
