The biggest upset of the week belonged to Gilmer, who took down 80th ranked Cass, 34-24.
Pickens moved up to 168 from 254 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 7A. The Dragons climbed the ranks as a result of besting Cedartown 54-35.
Pickens' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tanner Brumby threw for 277 and four touchdowns and Shannon Brooks had 202 yards receiving. On the ground Brooks chipped in 162 yards. Titus Henderson helped Pickens' passing attack out by catching six balls for 57 yards.
Pickens' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brumby has thrown for 833 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Brooks has 27 catches for 360 yards. Brooks leads the league in rushing with 609 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Chris Parker's team takes on the Bobcats. The Dragons' offense has recorded 191 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Gilmer has permitted only 95 on the year.
Pickens took down the Bulldogs 54-35 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brumby ran for 119 yards in the win.
