The Easley Green Wave will head out on the road to square off against the Berea Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Easley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Easley fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Eagles on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 76-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite their loss, Easley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Drey Jackson, who shot 6-for-10 from deep and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Crews, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Berea came up short against the Eagles on Friday and fell 58-46. Berea has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Easley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Berea, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Easley beat the Bulldogs 61-52 when the teams last played last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Easley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
