Union Colony Prep has struggled against Lyons recently, as their game on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Union Colony Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tanner Sarchet, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sarchet has scored all season. Josiah Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Union Colony Prep were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Caleb Christiansen was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with three steals for Lyons. Christiansen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Bolkovatz, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Union Colony Prep dropped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Lyons, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Colony Prep will take on Front Range Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Front Range Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lyons, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Creek is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.5 points per game.
